I spent the day with my mom. This does not happen very often - so it was really nice! My sister and her husband are having a commitment ceremony in May so mom and I are in "wedding" mode! It's fun :-)
The day was full of dress shopping (for me), finding the veil, finding the perfect guest book, trying to figure out what candies to get and what to put them in, and then on to flower arrangements! I have a feeling my fingers will be busy and bleeding come May!
As I spent the day with my mom I found myself remembering that these days are limited.
The day will come (very soon) when I will be too far away for Saturday shopping days or Saturday night football games. And when the sadness would creep up the Lord would whisper sweet gifts in the form of mom asking about the future...
"Now what will you need to wear?"
"It's going to be hot so cotton will be your friend!"
"Do they wear bright colors? That fits you well!"
Today I am thankful for the day with my mom! I'm thankful for moments of joy that we experience as we spend time together. I'm thankful that no matter how far away I go, she will still be here when I need her!
What are you thankful for?
