Is Jesus really worth it? Is question has been asked in many ways, at many times, by many people in my life - even myself. Is Jesus worth it? What is "it"? I say this with every ounce of my being - YES Jesus is worth it! Here are my "its"
Jesus is worth... my all of my time
Jesus is worth... not making money and giving away what I have
Jesus is worth... my undivided focus
Jesus is worth... being uncomfortable
Jesus is worth... giving my heart to
Jesus is worth... looking different in the eyes of the world
Jesus is worth... not being understood
Jesus is worth... telling people about... He is really awesome!
Jesus is worth... giving up my plans for
Jesus is worth... risking my safety and security for
Jesus is worth... not knowing what tomorrow might bring
Jesus is worth... being lonely sometimes
Jesus is worth... praising in the midst of tails
Jesus is worth... allowing my heart to break over injustice
Jesus is worth... leaving my home in order to reach the lost
Jesus is worth... MY LIFE
I do believe that Jesus is worth everything. I say this with all of my heart- knowing that I even though I believe it I don't always live it. Walking this journey of being a missionary my eyes are being open to what Jesus is really worth - how worthy He really is to sacrifice all I am and have in order that the world might know Him. He is worthy - I am not. But Jesus loves me anyways and chooses to use me.
But why is Jesus is worth everything? Jesus is worth living different then the world lives because of who He is and what He has done. Father God created us to love and for us to love Him. We were never created to love anyone more than Him or live our lives for anything other than Him. You see we were not created for ourselves - we were created for GOD. But people hear that and don't like it. We don't like it because we are selfish. But it's the truth.
I was NOT born so that I could live a "good" life, make lots of money, have nice things, and to be happy while doing it all. I was born so that I could tell people about saving power of Jesus and worship God. That's what I was created for and I believe that is a life worth living.
Jesus is not a liar - He promises that He is worth living life for because my inheritance is the pleasures of eternal life if we would surrender our lives to Him. I desire to live my life for the joy of eternal life, the hope of no more tears, the unconditional love of my Heavenly Father, reward of Jesus knowing me, trusting my dreams will be made new and peace that my life has been saved and transformed! My heart and eyes are set on things above and not what the earth can provide.
I pray Jesus is worth everything to you because you are worth everything to Him!
