Thoughts on bloging

This blog was started out of the desire to keep people informed on my mission work. First that work was to be in Italy... so the first 12 months of this blog are focused on Italy. I thought about whether or not I should take down those post since Italy is no more for me. But once I thought about it and went back through them I realized that was redonculous and they will indeed stay.

Because what this blog is really about is this:
1) The journey the Lord has me on as a missionary to the NATIONS
2) Sharing my heart
3) Being real in the place of desire, heartache, and life
4) To write

I love to write. I hated school type writing or maybe just the thought of being graded/criticized. My spelling and punctuation are horrible. But the words that get transferred to these "pages" are always birthed from deep within my heart. I am a thinker. And an extreme external processor. This journey the Lord has me on is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Bringing out and taking the thinker and talker in me to another level!

I am on a journey. This blog is a journey. My life is a journey. My search for more of God is a journey. My desire to be more compassionate and loving towards people is a journey.

Being an imitator of Jesus, serving His people, speaking truth in love... it's all the journey I am on.

I have goals for 2012. Personal goals, Spiritual goals, Professional goals, Dream goals and goals for this blog. This year I want to use this space as a place to share Jesus. There is nothing more important to me than Jesus, nothing. I love Him and I want to share that love with others. So my desire and goal for this year is to pour my heart out to Jesus and to share that process with you.

The Lord is gifting me with the fulfillment of one of my most deeply rooted dreams and I want to praise Him for that. I want to know Him. I want to love Him and love others. I want to know what Jesus thinks, what He feels, what He says about Africa and her people. I want this year to be a year of expectation and preparation for my life in Africa.

I want this blog to provoke you to search, to think, to process, to grapple, and to ultimately fall desperately in love with Jesus! I invite you to Journey with me!

With much love and grace,
Nicole
