I love listening to children pray! My heart is stirred when I hear a child talk to our heavenly Abba. They speak with such honesty and little reason. The prayers of a child are authentic.
I have had the opportunity to pray with many children over the years. While doing my internship at ZHOP I had experiences with children praying for healing and by golly those people were healed! Their prayers weren't long drawn out prayers. No, they were simple and to the point. "Jesus heal them. Amen." And boom God heard and healing was ministered.
LOVE IT!!!! I love the prayers and faith of children!
Right now my heart is surviving on prayer. My prayer time with the Lord has been sweet. And my heart is strengthened knowing many people are praying with me and for me.
Recently I discovered that one of the people who are covering me in prayer on a faithful basis is a young one. I received and email from her mom that said this little girl (9 yrs old) has my picture by her bed and is committed to praying for me and my ministry in Italy. Hold up, wait a minute, clear tears from the eyes. I was humbled. I was blessed. I am excited!
The family I live with have 4 very energetic boys! And this is another reason I love the prayers of a child... We were sitting down to eat and the oldest (6 yrs old) wanted to pray for our meal, so he did. As he's praying for everyone and everything he says, "thank you for our new house-dweller..." What?! New house-dweller? His mom looks at me and says, "that's you." Oh! Thanks buddy - I'm glad you are thankful for your new house-dweller :)
God calls us to have faith like a child. I also think He really enjoys hearing the prayers of kiddos too. So today as you take time to pray, pray like a child - honest, transparent, raw and with expectancy!
Do you have any funny kid prayers? Please do share. I would love to hear!
