A Time for Everything

Last week I felt the Lord urging me to do a Bible in a Year reading plan. I have tried before and failed and really didn't want to fail once again. I admit that in the past I have really struggled through the old testament. I wish I could say that I love the old testament and that it is fascinating and yeah... not the case for me :(

I was looking through different reading plan on YouVersion and came across the ESV study Bible one year reading plan. I have the ESV study Bible and I love it so I thought it would be good. Then I looked at the plan and knew right away it was for me! The plan goes through the whole Bible in a year but the plan has you read 4 different sections each day. For example the first day of the plan I read Ecclesiastes, Genesis, 1 Chronicles, and Luke.

The thing I love most about this reading plan is that it parallels the old and new testaments and shows how they are connected! I love seeing the story of redemption and salvation is throughout the entire Bible. I'm excited about the old testament!

The very first reading was so very fitting!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to week, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time to war, and a time for peace.

If you are looking for a reading plan, check out YouVersion. They have many to choose from!

Blessed Tuedays friends,
Nicole

  1. Thanks Nicole!! I'm going to look into that. I have fallen further from God lately with everything going on in my life and I know that it is not His plan. I am going to look into it and see if there is a plan that will work for me!!!
