Living in a dorm, it is important that I make it feel as comfortable as possible. I have a way to go but today I got some creative spark and decided to decorate with things I have and odd supplies lying around.
Here we go... decorating on a missionary's budget!
Today I noticed that there was a rod just underneath the sink counter. Using an unused pillow case and paper clips I wrapped the pillow case around the rod and secured it in place with the paper clips.
No more toiletry items on display under the sink!
I'm not a fan of bare walls. And I need somewhere to hang my earrings. So here you go! Using my {not wore very often} crochet vest I secured it to the light using twisty ties.
Now I have a fun earring holder!
I didn't like how it was just open under the desk. There is a window, a large suitcase, and the radiator under the desk. Using one of my big, long scarfs I gently secured it under the desk using small tacks. Now I have some more storage space and the heat can still get through no problem.
I don't have picture frames yet and I didn't want to use tape to hang up pictures and risk ruining the pictures. But I really wanted to display my pictures and cards! Using one of my pretty scarfs {that is hard to ware} I secured it onto the wall using small tacks. Using sting and ribbon I secured them behind each door using tape. Then to insure the pictures don't get damaged I used clothes pins to attach the picture to the string/ribbon. Very me :)
Because it is just too darn cool, I had to display my mustache laptop case! The cross is a sticker from my amazing tattoo artist's shop - Transformation Gallery &Tattoo!
I believe there will be an IKEA run very soon for me and some of the ladies!!! Very exciting. I would like to add a large rug as I don't like cold tile floors and hopefully add some more color to the room. I would love to find another large fabric piece to add to the large bare wall opposite the closet/sink wall. But on a missionary's budget... little at a time :)
